Music: More Than Just... Sounds?
If you’re anything like me, at some point you’ve probably attempted to win the heart of some pretty young thing using a mash-up of methods from sources as varied as Shakespeare, the films of Woody Allen, and the paperback version (now sadly unavailable) of “Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt Techniques” by Jean Jacques Machado. Am I right ladies? I should say at this point that I’m not, in fact, a lady.
What’s missing from this amorous equation? Poetry? Romance? Whimsy? High-energy displays of impeccable martial arts technique? Obviously not. The answer is music. If we’re to believe what we see in sub-par comedies and horribly predictable TV commercials, then there’s but one simple answer for any romantic occasion demanding a little musical atmosphere: Barry White.
Personally though, I’m not a fan, and I tend toward early Beach Boys and Yes’s "Tales From Topographic Oceans" for good ol’ mood music. Sure, if you’re stuck and it’s a choice between "Can’t Get Enough" or GG Allin’s “Kiss Me in the Gutter,” then I suppose the difficult choice would be the baritone stylings of one Mister Barry White. But I digress.
For the bold or those lacking a built-in sense of shame, music also presents the opportunity to meet someone. How? Check out our video, and let us know how you’ve used music to trick someone into loving you.
